Joey Bynum
Superintendent
With more than 18 years of experience across construction, oil & gas, and manufacturing, Joey Bynum brings a wealth of hands-on knowledge and leadership to every job site. Known for his attention to detail and steady, solutions-driven mindset, Joey plays a key role in maintaining quality control, safety compliance, and subcontractor scheduling for Stansell Construction projects.
Before joining Stansell, Joey built a versatile career foundation—first in the oil & gas industry, where he ensured OSHA and DOT compliance and managed operational challenges, and later at Priefert Manufacturing, where he honed his skills in equipment management, negotiation, and customer relations. His well-rounded experience gives him a deep understanding of both the technical and human sides of construction.
For Joey, there’s nothing quite like stepping onto a blank job site at the very beginning—visualizing what it will become—and then standing in that same spot months later, seeing the vision brought to life. That full-circle moment is what fuels his passion for building.
A graduate of Northeast Texas Community College with additional OSHA Job Site training, Joey’s career path was influenced early on by family. His grandfather, who served as superintendent for Zachry Construction during the building of Lake Bob Sandlin, and his own experience working for a plumber in high school, instilled in him a strong work ethic and love for the trades.
Outside of work, Joey and his wife Denise enjoy life with their children Brantlee and Baylee. Weekends often include church, cooking out, and the occasional motorcycle ride. The Bynum family’s favorite getaway is Colorado, where they love to snow ski and take in the mountain air.
